🌸 Women’s History Month 🌸

March is Women’s History Month — a time to honor, celebrate, and recognize the countless contributions women have made throughout history and continue to make in our communities every day. From trailblazers in science, politics, education, the arts, and civil rights, to the leaders, mentors, and role models in our own lives, women have shaped our world in powerful and lasting ways.

Throughout this month, we encourage our students and staff to reflect on the achievements, resilience, and impact of women past and present. Together, let’s celebrate progress, inspire

future generations, and continue working toward equity and opportunity for all. 💜✨

Family Liaison Update

Hello Columbia Community,

I am writing to share the news that I will not be returning to CMS for the 2026-2027 school year. While I will truly miss being part of this community, I remain fully committed to supporting you as your Family Liaison for the remainder of this school year.

Moving forward, your primary points of contact for next year will be your student’s grade-level counselor. In the meantime, please do not hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns—I am here to ensure these last few months are great for everyone!

Thank you all for your continued support and for making my time here so special. Best, Ms. Rodriguez

Nurse

We’ve noticed a high volume of students visiting the clinic within the first 20 minutes of the school day for minor ailments. To ensure your child is ready to learn and to help us keep the clinic available for emergencies, please follow these guidelines:

  • Morning Check: If your child is feeling unwell or has a fever, please keep them home until they are fever-free without medication for 24 hours.
  • Before-School Care: Please administer any necessary medications for headaches, allergies, or menstrual cramps at home before the school day begins. Medications can only be administered at school a maximum of 2 times per week (with signed parent permission).
  • Cough & Cold: If your child has a nagging cough, please send them to school with a supply of cough drops, as the clinic has a limited supply.

Our goal is to keep our students healthy, comfortable, and in the classroom! Thank you for your partnership.
